Internalization Room by Shema OBT

1. Introduction

Internalization Room ("the App") is a tablet application developed by Shema OBT ("we", "us", "our"). Translation teams use it in facilitated sessions to speak and listen to a passage while the room guides them. This policy explains what the App collects and how it is used.

2. Who Uses the App

The App has no personal accounts. A facilitator links the tablet to a translation team with a claim code.
The App contains no ads and no analytics, and we do not sell data.

3. Information We Collect

Audio recordings: The App asks for microphone permission to record the team's spoken takes during a session. We use the microphone only while a session is recording.
Session data: The team's sessions, passages worked on, and the transcripts of what was said.
Device link: The credential that ties the tablet to its team.

4. Data Stored on the Tablet

The device link credential is kept in the platform's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android).
Local records of the team's progress, and recordings waiting to be sent, are kept in the App's private storage on the tablet.

5. Data Sent to Our Servers

Recordings and session data are sent over HTTPS to our servers. Recorded takes are stored in Google Cloud Storage, and session data and transcripts are stored by our servers. They are accessible to the team's facilitator and to the Shema team that operates the service.

6. Third-Party Services

Our servers send data to these providers to run the room. We do not share data with any other third party.

ElevenLabs: receives recorded audio to transcribe it, and receives text to turn it into the room's spoken voice.
Anthropic: receives text, such as transcripts and passage material, to generate the room's guidance.
Google Cloud Storage: stores the recorded takes.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

A facilitator can archive a team's work with the "Zerar" action. Archiving hides it from the team; it does not delete the recordings.
A team or facilitator can ask us to delete their recordings and session data at any time by writing to the address below.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
