Oral Collector ("the App") is developed by Shema OBT ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application for language documentation and preservation.

Account Information: Email address and display name, provided during registration.
Audio Recordings: Voice recordings you create within the App for language documentation purposes.
Project Metadata: Information about the language projects you participate in, including genre classifications and recording metadata (title, duration, date).
Profile Photo: An optional avatar image you may upload.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively for:

Providing the core functionality of recording, storing, and organizing audio data for language documentation projects.
Authenticating your identity and managing your account.
Syncing your recordings between your device and our servers.
Displaying your profile to other members of your language projects.

4. Data Storage and Security

Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage (FlutterSecureStorage).
All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS.
Audio recordings are stored locally on your device and, when synced, on our secure cloud servers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties. Your recordings are only accessible to members of the language projects you belong to.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active.
Audio recordings contributed to language projects are retained for the purposes of language documentation and preservation, even after account deletion, as they form part of the collective language documentation effort.
You may request deletion of your account at any time through the App's Profile settings.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data through the App.
Update your display name and profile photo at any time.
Delete your account through the App's Profile settings. Note: contributed recordings are preserved for language documentation purposes.
Contact us with questions about your data.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is rated for all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
